Traditionally, prayer flags are used to promote peace and compassion. The Tibetans believe the prayers and mantras will be blown by the wind into the universe. Therefore, prayer flags are thought to bring benefit to all. By hanging flags in high places the wind will carry the blessings on the flags to all beings. The prayers of a flag become a permanent part of the universe as the images fade from exposure to the elements.
I first learned about prayer flags during a visit to Dog Mountain in Vermont in fall 2017 and was inspired to create my own. My prayer flags are printed in the USA with eco-friendly inks on 100% cotton twill fabric. All of the sewing and assembling is done by me. They are a string of 5 flags on 6’ of cotton cord, and they can be removed from the cord and washed. Prices include shipping within the USA.
